|
Following on from its ongoing ratings success in the US, including most recently the performance of Sunday night’s one hour special 'Baby High' on MTV*, DCD Media-owned September Films has been commissioned to produce 2 further specials for US cable network A&E.
Raising Bains (1x60') - the one hour documentary special follows a unique American family - Bains - who have an incredible 13 children. 12 of them are adopted and 8 of the adopted kids have been taken in from the same family. As a result, many of the children have issues with attachment and adjusting to their new home. Through the course of the show, we'll find out how the Bain family copes with the kids' individual needs and past traumas. Handling the everyday drama of life as well as the additional issues of bringing up a blended family, Dave and Kathy are committed to making their unusual life work - and to creating a happy home for the entire Bain family.
Raising Bains was executive produced by Sheldon Lazarus and directed by Eric Streit and is set to premiere on A&E on 23 August at 11pm.
"Billy the Exterminator: Billy Goes To The Gulf" (1x60') follows on Season 2 of the successful real life series 'Billy The Exterminator' starring Billy and his brother Ricky as they travel to the Gulf Coast to find themselves head-to-head with the devastation caused by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. From oiled sea turtles to a rescued dolphin, an angry oiled raccoon and anguished pelicans, the Vexcon team witnesses the destruction caused to wildlife and the danger to all living creatures in the devastated area.
The programme was co-produced by Richard Hansil and Sheldon Lazarus and is due premiere on A&E on 28 July at 10PM ET/PT. Andy Berg is executive producer for A&E.
The new orders come as three major September Films series are simultaneously airing over the summer on US cable networks, including Mall Cops: Mall of America currently transmitting on TLC; Billy The Exterminator, reaching the end of its second top rated season on A&E (finale airs tonight); and a new season of the record breaking series Bridezillas whose one-hour launch special delivered its best premiere audience ever to WEtv.
